Justice gets turned on its ear in Righteous Kill, a dramatic thriller from Alliance Films

Fond memories of Dirty Harry resurface as our story follows the path of two “upstanding” New York policemen. Veteran detective Turk knows his way around the block and doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Alongside a slightly “fresher” partner named Rooster the pair delights in tracking down low lives throughout the hardened boroughs of the Empire State. Time and time again the duo take exception to the way the justice system handles criminals. Naturally, in order to see that justice is done the lawmen decide to take the law into their own hands.

Moviegoers have seen this story before. Clearly Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson were of the same stripe as officers Turk and Rooster. Only here talented Academy Award winning Robert De Niro (Goodfellas) and Al Pacino (The Godfather) clearly have their characters down pat. Nice shots of the slums of New York and all those internal disputes at the precinct do lend some legitimacy and authenticity to the controlled chaos that these two officers are about to unleash.
