Chelsea 5 AC Milan 0
Nicolas Anelka scored four as Chelsea secured third place in the Russian Railways Cup. Following their penalty defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow on Friday, the Blues played a weakened Milan side in the Third/Fourth Play-Off match and went ahead inside two minutes courtesy of Frank Lampard's deflected free-kick. Anelka found his first five minutes later with an emphatic finish following a defensive error from the Italians, before the third came on 17 minutes, this time thanks to miskick from keeper Zeljko Kalac. Anelka sealed his hat-trick five minutes into the second half as Chelsea continued to dominate, and he finished off a fantastic display seven minutes later by coolly turning in Florent Malouda's cross. The game closed Chelsea's pre-season activities. They will now train in preparation for next Sunday's Premier League opener against Portsmouth.

The Gunners needed to win 4-0 to win their own trophy, but the only goal of the game came four minutes into the second half when Emmanuel Adebayor converted from the spot following Michel Salgado's foul on Robin van Persie. Denilson, Nicklas Bendtner and van Persie came close to adding a second, but it wasn't to be for the Gunners, who finished third in the final table.
