Let Heath Ledger Rest In Peace, Let The Rest Live In Peace

On January 30, Entertainment Tonight pre-released portions of a video of Heath at a "drug party" three months after his daughter Matilda's birth. He can be heard saying, "I am going to get serious sh*t from my girlfriend. We had a baby three months ago." He goes on to discuss his drug habits. People at the party can be seen snorting cocaine. The most incriminating portions of the video will be released in the coming days.

The drug party took place at Chateau Marmont - the same hotel where John Belushi died of an overdose.

This certainly may help to explain aspects of Heath's death, but he has not even had his funeral yet. The term "Rest In Peace" was made for days like this.

What's so troublesome about it is that the video was shot undercover style by OK! magazine and was later bought by another tabloid big player who is now releasing it.

Yesterday on Entertainment Tonight, we were able to read lengthy portions of Adnan Ghalib's text messages. (Adnan being Britney Spears' "on-again, off-again" boyfriend). The paparazzi are spying and selling, using super telescopic lenses to give us a glimpse into very private places. I'm pretty sure there are already laws in place against this kind of thing. It is illegal in some states to tape someone without their knowledge.

It's starting to sicken me the way the paps shove cameras in their faces, sell the scandal, and then ask why these people are so f*cked up. We ask "Why is Britney so crazy?" yet we drive her crazy by creating an environment not conducive to human survival.

Of course I had second thoughts about even helping to spread the news of the incriminating video, but if the video is coming out anyway, we need to talk about the people who are putting it out.

I am guilty of being part of the problem. I used to buy tabloid magazines. I haven't since Britney was hauled away in restraints before our very eyes. Of course it's tempting to peek inside and I feel the pull, but I can't stand to support what I see anymore. My guilty pleasure turned into just guilty.

Thanks for letting me rant.

I was about to let loose a string of unpleasant adjectives after viewing that video, but I've controlled myself - can we let him rest already? I would like to think that the PR company who represented Heath would black-list ET and The Insider for showing the footage that they did - it doesn't feel like enough that they get to pull the story from their line-up tonight and still get the benefit of access to other celebs. I'd also like to think that celebs might finally realize that the people behind these shows smile to your face while stabbing you in the back, and refuse to interview with them.

Heather,
I couldn't agree more.

I am guilty as well of being a part of the problem when it comes to hounding celebrities, but none of that changes the fact that Heath Ledger was an immense talent, and we will never know what he was able to achieve.

I heard about the video last night, ET and the Insider, have decided not to play it now, and I suppose we are just suppose to forget that both of those shows played 90% of the videos last night as a promo.

unfortunately, I think that it is going to get worse before it gets better...........
Just my 2 cents
