STEVE IRWIN DAY

Steve Irwin Day on November 15 will be a day for remembering the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. The day will represent the many things Steve was passionate about: Family, wildlife and FUN. Get involved in a number of ways, including visiting Australia Zoo for an action packed day, having a Back Yard Camp-out or donning your khaki’s for Khaki Day. All proceeds raised from these activities will go to Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Worldwide.

Steve Irwin Day at Australia Zoo will be jam packed full of activities that encompass all the things that Steve loved such as camping, surfing and animals! You can take part in DIY classes to make your own bird boxes and possum boxes! There will also be an awesome auction in the Crocoseum and heaps of prizes that everyone has the chance to win! So come along to Australia Zoo on Thursday, November 15 - Crikey! You won’t want to miss it!

Backyard Camp-out is a great way to spend valuable time with your family as well as raising money for a fantastic cause. It doesn’t matter what sort of backyard you have - you can still camp-out. Hang a hammock on your veranda, pitch a tent in the backyard, ask your class and school to camp out on the oval. Just get out there and camp like Steve did to help us connect people with their environment, collect money and help Wildlife Warriors protect wildlife and habitat.

Steve Irwin was immediately recognizable around the world in his trademark khaki uniform - it was his go anywhere, signature style and he wore it with pride. From red carpets to croc rescues, Steve and his khakis always took centre stage!

We can’t think of a better way to salute Steve Irwin – the Crocodile Hunter and the original Wildlife Warrior – than by wearing khaki on November 15.
