Manchester United Pair Land Monthly Award

Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo have scooped the Barclays monthly awards for January.Manager Ferguson, 66, wins the manager of the month award after leading his team to four wins out of four that included a 6-0 victory over Newcastle.

Current top marksman Ronaldo, 23, takes the player of the month title after scoring six goals to take his total in the league to 19. It is the third time the current player of the year has won the award.

Ferguson has now won the award on 20 occasions although his last came in February 2007.
