Tiger Woods won the US open yesterday on a sudden-death playoff hole, after he ended up tied with Rocco Mediate after an 18-hole playoff. Rocco is a 45-year-old journeyman who was vying to become the oldest winner of the Open ever. Tiger's now won his 14th major tournament, surpassing Jack Nicklaus at this stage of his career. That he did it eight weeks after knee surgery will confirm his status as the greatest golfer ever. As well, many are calling it the greatest US Open ever.
