During her victim impact statement, Georgina Papin's sister said it made her angry to hear her sister described as a drug-addicted prostitute from the poverty stricken area of the Downtown Eastside. She said she didn't know Georgina like that; her sister was a person who had feelings and a family, who loved her dearly.

Today has been a most exhausting day - mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. I sat through the victim impact statements, 18 in total, and three of them were read directly by family members who were in the courtroom today.

Mona Wilson’s family had their impact statements read by the Crown. It was too hard for family members to get up and read, let alone control their emotions. I don’t blame them.

Georgina Papin's sisters were there to read their impact statements, and if looks could kill, Pickton would have been six-feet under. Each of them looked directly at Pickton with piercing eyes, but Pickton never reacted. He just sat there as though nothing was happening.

Rick Frey made his statement to Pickton, and he too looked Pickton down and didn’t receive any acknowledgment from Pickton. Lynn Frey, Marnie Frey's step-mom, got up and read Marnie's daughter Brittany Frey’s statement for her because it was just too hard for her, at age 15, to do so. I don’t blame her either.

I was bawling my eyes out with a box of Kleenex on the seat beside me. I was remembering Marnie while she was alive and then having to think of her cut into little pieces and shoved away in a freezer. It would take every bit of energy I had left to hold me back from attempting to pulverize Pickton. It’s no wonder the courts had three sheriffs in the courtroom standing by Pickton.

So I spent this morning between anger and tears with a handful of Kleenex wiping off the make up I had put on this morning. My head began throbbing and my stomach was starting to hurt.
