As we started Day Three of Mr. Brooks speaking for the Defence and watching his power point presentation, we heard how none of the firearms evidence amounted to anything; the bullets recovered from Sereena Abotsway and Mona Wilson's remains, did not, in fact, match any gun recovered. As Defence closed in on the end of its case, I began to realize I was losing something: hope. Hope that I may ever have an answer of how my friends died.

Mr. Brooks spoke at some length about gun calabres and the bullets found on the property. Mr. Brooks asked the jury not to assume just because it was on the property that Pickton could be the sole user of the firearm. Also, none of the saws on the property matched any of the markings found on the remains.

There was also no evidence that any of the victims were strangled, as Mr. Bellwood and earlier witnesses would have us believe Pickton told him.

Mr. Brooks said that the case against Mr. Casanova was better because his DNA was found in more places along with or mixed some of the victim's blood, such as Casanova's DNA on a door mixed with Mona Wilson's DNA.

Mr. Brooks brought up the subject of Pickton's relationship with Dinah Taylor, who is a glaring hole in this case. Hr relationship with Pickton goes back a number of years to 1992 or 1993.

We heard how her belongings (83 items in total) were found in Pickton's bedroom in a side table and on the head board. Taylor's stuff was also found in the laundry room - a purple pair of pants bearing her DNA. In addition, the guest bedroom had three items of her clothing and drug paraphernalia, and 25 items were found in the office.

Taylor's DNA was found on two lipstick tubes that also contained the DNA of Brenda Wolfe. Her DNA was also found on make up bearing the DNA of Andrea Joesbury. It almost sounded like Taylor's DNA was taking over the make up of the dead women.

Taylor also had a pair of bloodstained sweat pants that were found, but interestingly the large blood stain on them was never sent in for testing.
