Bizarre Sky 30 Minutes Before China Quake

Bizarre, colorful, luminous, glowing cloud phenomenon in the sky was observed about 30 minutes before the May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake took place. This was recorded in Tianshui, Gansu province, 450 kilometers northeast of epicenter, by someone using a cell phone.
(source).

The clouds seemed to be glowing or somewhat luminous and seemed to resemble some characteristics of the Auroras. I am not sure exactly what they were or whether they indeed had anything to do with the quake. I am no expert anyways. See if any scientists are willing to give a full explanation.

If such phenomenon can be proved for its connection with earthquake occurrences, maybe they could be used as warning signs and would be life saving. If not, just learn these clouds as yet another rare atmospheric phenomenon and no need to panic when seeing them.

After all, this might well be just a rare atmospheric phenomenon that occurred by coincidence.

First off Mr. Innison welcome to Orato,

I would, as a keen observer of all phenomena, appreciate having some evidence which might in the future help forecast an imminent earthquake. What you have provided gives no such information to me, nor does it appear in any way bizarre.

As a soaring pilot for nearly three decades, I’ve looked at clouds from both sides (and the inside.) Those clouds in the picture are in no way unusual to me. I think that the cloud’s “Bizarre qualities” are in the eyes of the beholders and those of the purveyors of this video.

Much as I tried to point out in this article, many different people will read many unusual things into the same event which all have collectively viewed:

The further complications to me buying into this article as real, are:
(1) When I go to the source, it’s all in Chinese, therefore I can’t check anything there.
(2) When I go to your bio to see if you have any credentials in the field, I don’t see any hint that you are even real, let alone qualified as to judge atmospheric phenomena..

I do see how quickly the believers of anything will jump to the bait, though.

Another example of the lack of critical thinking which I rail against often, is all I see here. This is defined by the word "Gullible." That is the dichotomy I don't fully understand: although we have the most educated/informed population in history, they also seem to be the most gullible ever, too! Could this be due to the believer training we are subjected to from birth on?

I see here the bizarre roots of another conspiracy con, no I mean; pseudo science project, perhaps?
