Gas Prices
I am actually angry. Can you believe how expensive gas is? I remember when it was less than a dollar, and that was about 5 or 6 years ago. I think that this is ridiculous.
The other day I paid 4.61 a gallon and that was the cheapest station on the block, and yeah I use premium, but today when I was driving to work, unleaded was 4.53.
Uhhhhhh! I just want to scream. I should not be stressing out over gas…but this is a serious matter.
It seems that this is all about business right now. I was watching the news and they said that right now there was a surplus of gas…Well I would not know it. They are charging what seems like an arm and a leg for gas, and I don't know what to do. Not to mention we are either in or very close to entering a recession.
What is going on? We get this stimulus check from the government…but in some way it is probably money that we dished out ourselves on some tax or program that did not work out. And there is this man in office who shall remain nameless (but you know exactly who I'm talking about) who seems to continue to mess up the economy all together.
Not only is gas prices through the roof, but jobs are becoming more and scarcer on the regular. Tell me, does that make any sense? People are loosing their jobs, and yet the price of everything is increasing.
Whatever. I know that it is not the end of the road for me…but right now it feels like it.
Now I know about inflation…but when is enough, enough?

Re: Gas Prices....AHHHH
By Essence, July 7, 2008 at 17:10I know that the current argument is if we should drill or come up with alternate sources to fuel vehicles...but what people fail to realize i that it will take about ten years to do either...hopefully gas prices would have already gone down by then.

By luyen, July 5, 2008 at 19:35People in the gas industry say the demand hasn't gone up, in fact demand in China has gone down for fuel...one of the main arguments people have used to justify the increase in gas prices. So what's the real deal?
I believe it's all speculation...and ultimately, the folks at the gas pumps can charge whatever to make the most money. Alternative technology is behind (hybrid, electric, etc...), even though American companies are dying off cause they can't compete with higher efficiency imports...
This isn't capitalism folks, it's exploitation...it's the status quo which kills the kind of innovation that at one point made the U.S. a country of thinking and building, now it's just consuming!
